meeting on tuesday 14th november 1936
The Space:
- Level 2 at the lethaby
Need to know:
- How many lights there are
- How many outlets there are
- How many screens you need
- Traffic flow
- 26 projects to communicate
Comments from Arnaud:
- Importance of categorising the different areas of projects so that it's easy to find projects and navigate the space
What is the event that the show isn't:
- To create a forum
- To create a dialogue
- Could be about narrative environments or about issues we raise with our projects
- Debate
- An aftershow party
- Each space gets lit for a small amount of time
Why we want the show:
- This is what I've learnt in two years
- Promote the program
- Possible employment
- An interaction with people (can the show and the event be the same thing)
The ideal show:
- Get entertained
- be immersed
- Interactive
- Not feeling forced to see everything
- If we're doing it at CSM what's happening outside on the streets too
Examples of good experiential exhibitions:
- Coppermill
Need to do:
- Secure the space
- Go see the space
- Find out lead times for PR and publications
Fundraising:
- Kevin to do a quick talk on fundraising
- What's to be donated (materials)
- Drinks sponsorship (and glasses)
- Affiliates
- Parties
- Publishing companies
- What things are we going to need for the show and who do we contact?
The Show:
- Cocktails for every project
- Length of the show could be shorter and concentrated
Promoting/PR:
- Student Time Out
- Editorials
- Press (Icon, WeMakeMoneyNotArt)
